It took me years to love Campari and now I do (must be all those dead taste buds...).
You may remember my winter drink with Campari, the Negroni, from
this post. But for summer it's Campari and soda on ice (equal parts for me) or fill a glass with ice, add about half Campari and fill with Pellegrino Aranciata.
Mmmmm-mmmmm. Good and good for you.
Will have to give it a try!

I love Campari...my husband says it tastes like poison!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, campari. It's the bitter drink for grown-ups...I love it!
ReplyDeleteCompari and orange juice for me.
ReplyDeleteJill: It is an acquired taste.
ReplyDeleteD: Aranciata is like sparkly o.j. Not as acidy.
Love Campari...it's a bit of an old man drink but I adore it just the same. Mixed with gin and tangerine juice it is completely irresistible.
ReplyDeleteOh now you made me wanna grab one...as in now!!! One Campari please:)
ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed to say I've never tried campari but I love all those vintage ads you see for it. This sounds good and I do like bitter things- maybe I'll have to give it a shot! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to try this! It looks delicious!
ReplyDeletefrom nigella lawson...
ReplyDeleteThere is an Italian aperitif that I learnt about in Anna's memoirs and have taken to drinking (preferably with her) called Prosecco Sporco. Literally that means dirty prosecco (I suppose we could call it Filthy Fizz) but what it is in practice is prosecco spiked with a dash of campari - unutterably chic, and to be relished.
Love Campari- straight on the rocks! All those good bitter herbs... also Pernod - I love licorice like anise flavor!
ReplyDeleteClink!
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to have some tonight.
