My love for the Woody goes way back. I'm not exactly sure when it started but my guess is sometime around the time of my Beach Boys fanaticism in high school. A scene from "Holiday Inn" with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire also comes to mind. The last photo, a 1948 convertible is currently for sale at rmauctions.com with an estimated price tag of $225,000-$275,000. Zoiks.
I may not be able to afford a Woody but I still daydream about this car (remember's Joni's post on it here?), which is the next best thing:
The 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is available here on eBay Motors for bidding or an $11,000 BuyItNow price tag. Consider it the yin to my Prius yang.
Even Puma got in on the action with its Cali Woody (no longer available and originally available only at its Santa Monica store, natch).
Ahhh, Woody. But that's not the end of my obsession with wood (David, get your mind out of the gutter). Stay tuned for Part II.
Have a Cozy Weekend.

Have you seen www.wagoneerworld.com?
LOVE!
Gorgeous! I always wanted one too, but at Christmas time so I could hang a wreath on the front end.
Oh, a car post, how fun! I was expecting something on the boys at Shore Haus. =)
It's funny how we all love the old body Grand Wagoneer, I wonder what it is about it. I've wanted one forever. Navy blue please.
A Woody is my dream car. That top photo .. I think I could live like that.
So, I guess the woody limo would be out of my price range?
I'm with you, Steph. That top photo? I think I could happily downsize to that.
Jill: I just went there. Looks like eBay'a a better buy.
Nikki: You are a woman after my heart.
So ...."Muffy where are the keys"?? "Lets go fohr a drive..."
Love them!

I've wanted a Grand Wagoneer for AGES! But my green-y husband would never allow it.
We'll be getting another Prius when we move in a few weeks.
*sigh*
No joke - I saw a NEW Jeep Grand Cherokee (well, maybe new within a year or so) with the woodgrain trim!!! I saw it driving around the Design Center (in Dallas) just a few weeks ago.
I had to do a double take, but it actually looked pretty cool.
Growing up I always wanted that Waggoner with the wood grain!!
Love this too! Have seen a couple out here..
i agree ; )
this was scary brilliant.
happy weekend!
We had a Wagoneer for years. We called it the mulch and mutt. We bought it to haul around the doggie and yard-type things (such as mulch). We had to title it out of state because it wouldn't pass the smog test. Egad. I miss it. We'll have another.
omg the matching pumas!
I love, love, love the Morris Minor Traveller in wood - didn't know of the awesome American woodie 'til now - thanks for sharing!
Takes me back to my childhood...
