My daughter brought me home a present yesterday: an old Partridge Family album. Yes, an album!! (She has a record player because they're cool again, apparently.)
So, for some humpday fun, let's take a trip in the wayback machine:
And for the kids, here's the version on my daughter's iPod by Less than Jake:
If you want to know the truth, I wanted to be Laurie more than I loved David Cassidy.
Flashbacks to my mustard, red and pea green plaid pants. I would stare at the cover for hours while I sang in my reynolds wrap microphone. The bus was sweet, too.
I just stumbled across your blog, and you had me at "Hello, Gor... David Cassidy!" I'm only 23, but I had the HUGEST crush on him growing up. "I think I love you" is still one of my favorite songs!
g: I had the matching midi coat with yellow faux fur!
Greta: I get all the best stuff from my girl's iPod.
Raina: You can still be a Partridge. Get a moving on some more peas, get a bus. It might not be the worst idea in this economy. Tell me, can the Pea carry a tune?
Vicki: I liked Peter, of course, while the rest of the world loved Davey. Peter??!!
You guys crack me up. I'm too old to have seen anything Partridge - but my husband tells me he enjoyed the show. During that period I threw away my TV and lived without one. So I'd be lost on a game show with questions about the 70's and 80's.

omg - that first picture took me *right* back! i remember staring into his eyes on album covers for probably way too long to be considered healthy!
I thought I wanted to be Laurie more too, until I saw that picture of David... he was quite the lovely beast, wasn't he.
What ever Less than Jake is, that "cover" is an abomination. Please leave my childhood alone!
