I'd crawl back into my hole, too. Crazy mofo.
Six more weeks, folks, like every year. Thanks, Phil.
Personally, I think Punxsutawney Phil is overrated. I like Staten Island Chuck. He's usually wrong but optimistic. Today, he predicted an early spring.
Actually, after a wee bit of research, I found
this press release (although a few years dated) by NY Senator Chuck Shumer stating that historically Chuck has been right 90% of the time while Phil's record is an embarrassing 30% of the time.
I guess Phil's hiding his head in shame.

I dispute your research, ma'am.
That groundhog needs a lawyer...
Phil, maybe you should go back to bed. You seem cranky.

Talk about cranky...
"Groundhog bites Bloomberg at ceremonyTHE ASSOCIATED PRESS and NEWSDAY 1:50 PM EST, February 2, 2009
Mayor Michael Bloomberg paid a visit to an apparently-disgruntled constituent nicknamed 'Staten Island Chuck' on Groundhog's Day -- and got bit for his trouble.
Staten Island's famous groundhog, Charles G. Hogg, inexplicably bit Mayor Bloomberg during his annual holiday ceremony on Monday, drawing blood from the billionaire."
I'm not listening to some overfed ground rodent with a name that I can't pronounce after two glasses of wine. I'll take Chuck, at least he knows what to do with a politician.
Hilarious!
Selfishly, I'd like 6 more weeks of winter, please. Winter in Austin means it only reaches 70 during the day. There is no spring, so as soon as winter bites the dust it's on to 100+ every damn day until November.
You think that's abuse? Did you hear about the Russian and the raccoon on Chelsea Lately last night?
becky
No, I love her! Tell me.
It was on the episode with the cute blonde chick who died on Lost - Maggie Grace or something like that? Last night's Chelsea...Without grossing everyone out - Russian man, claims he "decided to have some fun" with a raccoon, thus can now very much relate to John Wayne Bobbitt...
