I have Tom Jones singing "What's New Pussycat?" on my iPod.
Your turn.

I watched big love's second episode with my hand on the remote so i could change it immediately if barb was handed bad news. i didn't want to worry about her all night and into the week. my son came in the room and asked "are you comfortable sitting like that?" and I lied and said I was watching a basketball game at the same time....i wouldn't make this up! p.s. barb got good news, yipee, i can watch next week and enjoy....life is good. kathi oh, when i was a little girl, i LOVED tom jones last song of the night on his tv show. do you remember the last thing he would say to close his show?
Not a confession, more of a cranky complaint: after not swimming for a month, I got my ass handed to me at practice tonight. It's depressing; when I was last in shape, I was convinced I was doing something wrong because I hadn't magically morphed into Dara Torres overnight. Now, after staggering through the same yardage I could do easily a month ago, I am nostalgic for those bygone days. Blargh.
okay i just you tube'd tom jones and it can't be all of my fault. all i can say is that he was such a thrill to me as a kid and watching him as an adult makes me laugh out loud to think of myself as an awkward kid feeling shall we say, 'desirous'. love'd the hairdo's of the lucky women in the audience. thanks for the trip down memory lane. k
Kathi - No, I don't remember - what was it? And I haven't watched the episode yet. Thanks for the spoiler. :-) I've been going to post on the series. It's so interesting.
NerF - I hear Dara T. is ascared of you.
David - You're supposed to tell me something I didn't know. *wink*
Raina - I think you have me beat. Ha.
The saddest thing I have seen was at the Elvis thing in the fall. There was this well-known Elvis impersonator - sorry, tribute artist - there and he also did a Tom Jones impression. It took so much effort for him to move like that I thought he might hurt himself. I felt sorry for him but the women went crazy. He said he does this Ladies Night thing where he does Elvis and Tom Jones and "the ladies love it." *insert eye roll here* But I'll bet they do.
jeez, my apologies. well honestly i feel that i hear so many sad stories during the day, i can't bear to have my one tv series fall victim as well. i wish i knew up front that our barb was gonna be fine. no fear, the story will have several surprises for you anyway. i look forward to your take. k
I used to go visit Pontypridd, the village where Tom Jones grew up. It was up in the valleys outside of cardiff. My housemate did a mosaic in the train station there of TJ. Here's the picture.

Outfits like Mr. Jones has on in that photo drive me wild. Seriously.

I've ordered Dolly Parton's greatest hits from Amazon. I cannot wait to get it.
Hey ... I thought Mae West's words were ... "Is that a PISTOL in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?" ;-)
The last thing I listened to was also an oldie ... "Everlasting Love" -- can't remember who sang it though!

I like Tom Jones AND Dolly Parton. Is that bad enough for you?

Wow, really beautiful work, Meg. I'm sort of fascinated with mosaic work.
